Cantor Fitzgerald and CIM Group create new investment platform

Cantor Fitzgerald and CIM Group have created a new investment platform for commercial real estate lending.
Cantor Commercial Real Estate (CCRE) will provide underwritten fixed and floating rate mortgages and mezzanine loans secured by diverse real estate assets, predominantly in major U.S. markets, and will engage in securitisations of these loans.
Cantor Fitzgerald will provide management and capital while the CIM Group will serve as the lead investor and co-general partner.
The CCRE management team will be led by Anthony Orso, managing director of Cantor Fitzgerald and chief executive officer of CCRE.
Orso said: "By partnering with CIM, an outstanding investor, we are creating an entirely new investment banking model in the commercial mortgage business and are initially targeting annualised loan production of approximately $5bn
